F22
Our 2022 car represented a major upgrade, with the first backplate designs. This provided us with opportunities to improve upon and test out our vehicle before heading into competition. New set of Magnesium 10-inch OZ wheel has been fitted and uprights, brakes and suspension redesigned.
The F22 utilised a 2014 KTM EXC 590 Single cylinder engine producing a max of 42Nm of torque @7250 on a steel space frame. The cylinder was expanded from 500 to 590cc volume with new piston and rings. The car had a kerb weight of 203kg resulting in a fast accelerating car. The car was entered into Silverstone Formula Student 2022 ending the year long cumulative effort of all the students of Leeds that took part in Formula Student.
